I am a Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in the Memorial Area of Houston. I see lots of couples but also see individuals and families. I have a very active approach and spend a lot of time coaching and teaching. While listening is extremely important, I know that you are most likely not looking for a therapist who nods in silence and doesn’t provide guidance. I see my role as the navigator. I help you get on the right path, warn you about taking dead end streets and roads to nowhere. When you get off track, I will help you get unstuck and moving in the right direction.
I have written blog posts on the issues I see most frequently in my practice – unresolvable conflict, chronic unhappiness, lack of intimacy, resentment, infidelity. Read one of my posts and it should give you a good sense of my therapeutic style.
I decided I wanted to be a psychotherapist when I was 15. I actually knew before then but didn’t know what to call it until my first psychology class in high school. I majored in psychology at Texas Tech University then immediately went on to grad school. I completed my Master’s degree from Texas A&M – Commerce, which has an outstanding Counseling Department.
I am happily married to a wonderful, though sometimes clueless, man and am raising three awesome kids. I love working with couples on parenting issues, marital issues, teenage angst and all of the issues families face today.
Please feel free to give me a call if you would like to chat and see if we might be a good fit.
